Continuons ce tour d'horizon non-amical des diverses situations d'équipes au travers de la ligue avec la fameuse Division Sud.
Au cours des deux dernières saisons cette Division faisait peur à tous, les puissants Pens, la machine de Buffalo et le rebuild de Tampa dominaient le classement. Cette saison cette division a pris un pas de recul dans l'ensemble. Mais allons voir comment se dessine le portrait de la division.
Tampa Bay :
Une année en veilleuse pour DG Desbiens. Il possede encore un club pour finir dans le Top10 de la ligue mais va jouer à la couleuvre pour construire une équipe pour l'an prochain en y intégrant un ajout notable qu'est le nom d'un p'tit Russe du nom de Nikita Kucherov. De très bons trades ont étés faits l'an passé en ce sens afin de mettre la main de Teravainen et Wheeler. Connaissant l'esprit Requin de DG Desbiens junior je ne suis pas certain que ce dernier sera capale de demeurer tranquille toute l'année. DEux excellente sélection back to back au dernier draft en Matthew Coronatto et Izac Rosen, est-ce qu'ils seront toujours avec l'équipe dans quelques semaines ???
Pittsburgh
Une attaque explosive !!! Avoir Kadri et Rust sur une 4e ligne montre à quel point Pittsburgh à une profondeur hors normes à l'attaque. DG Rousseau croyait avoir réglé ses problèmes evant le filet en acquérant Tuuka Rask l'an dernier après une longue négociation avec Montréal. Quel malheur pour lui de voir les quotes de gardiens un peu tout croche cette année et devoir de nouveau négocier pour mettre la main sur le seul gardien de qualibre à bas prix en Mike Smith, encore en négociation avec Montréal... mais qui ne semble pas vouloir jouer au fond de classement cette année, DG Rousseau acceptera t-il de payer pour convaincre Montréal de bouger? Sans quoi ce sera Bernier et Drieger qui seront en tête d'affiche. Rask de son côté à été échangé contre Killorn de Boston, deux jours avant que la nouvelle s'officialise que Rask ne jouera probablement plus NHL. La défensive de l'équipe repose en grande partie sur Doughty et est ensuite constitué de bon défenseur solide mais rien à se pitcher dans les murs... soyons honnête cela ne restera pas comme cela longtemps... Pittsburgh trouve toujours des solutions.
Panthers :
Une vague de renouveau !!! Les Flyers veulent renaître et changer leur destinée.Ils ont décidé de se créer cette nouvelle identitée en sélectionnant Logan Mailloux au dernier Draft. Un SCANDALE mais en Floride tout le monde s'en criss... Il y a encore beaucoup de chemin à parcourir a Sunrise avant d'aspirer aux grands honneurs, quelques jeunes comme Nurse, Chychrun et Stutzle amène de l'espoir. Une décision s'imposera en Floride, essayer de gagner un jour ou vivfre éternellement dans la 2e moitié du classement. Quelques gestes intéressant dans la fin de saison en acquérant Burakonski contre Kempe (Denis se fera poivrer dans mon prochain article) ainsi que la signature de Tatar qui aura un rôle important au NJ cette année. Est-ce que DG Couture va vendre ses atouts pour profiter du Gros Draft 2022 pour reconstruire de sur base solide ?
Buffalo :
Le déclin d'un empire !!! C'est à se demander si DG Carrier n'essaye pas de faire pire que le vrai club ;) Il y a deux ans à peine tous les DG regardaient ce LineUp en se disant que c'était impossible de compétionner contre eux... cette époque est révolue. Au moment d'écrire ces lignes Buffalo dépasse toujours le plafond salariale de plus de 4 millions , une histoire qui se repète année après année. Les options semblaient plutot simple de racheter le contrat de Bobvroski, mais DG Carrier à préféré le conserver avec ceux de Karlsson(échangé plus tard contre Duchene) aisni que ceux de Kane et White(vs Spurgeon). En contrepartie afin de stabiliser sa masse et relancer son équipe Buffalo à échanger Eichel et Aho. Il sera intéressant de voir comment Buffalo reconstruira sa dynastie autour de McJesus.
Detroit :
Une signature intéressant aux UFA, Detroit mets la main sur Ryan Oreilly a un taux de 14m$ par année. Raisonnable comme surenchère versus ce qui s'est déjà vu dans la LDVP. Detroit ne s'est pas gené pour afficher a reconstruction l'an passé en envoyant Larkin a Toronto. La présence des Rantanen, Konecny. Hart et Theodore s'ajoute aux Rossi, Jarvis, Perfetti et laisse entrevoir un futur long terme intéressant pour Détroit. Il sera intéressant de voir si de gros noms vont bouger en cours d'année, il ne serait pas étonnant que Détroit soit vendeur pour encore quelques saisons afin de laisser le temps à ses jeunes de prendre leur place.
