Après avoir pris les rennes du Kraken, la nouvelle direction s'est donnée quelque temps pour analyser l'équipe et prendre des décisions concenant l'avenir du club. Plusieurs décision difficiles ont été prise afin de relancer l'équipe afin qu'elle soit compétitive dans les prochaines années. Quelques espoirs tel que Quinton Byfield, Mason McTavish, Simon Holmstrom et Erik Brannstrom commence à démontrer des signes encourageant de développement afin de s'imposer comme régulier dans la LNH mais il demeure que la banque de jeunes et de prospects se doit d'être regarnie. La direction devra également se concentrer à améliorer la brigade défensive étant l'équipe qui a accordé le plus de buts depuis le début de la présente campagne. Le retour imminent de Adin Hill aidera mais il demeure que la faiblesse de la défensive est évidente. Par conséquent, des noms tel que Patrick Kane, Kevin Hayes, Anthony Cirelli, Jared Spurgeon et Tyson Barrie ont été avancés comme étant susceptible d'aller sous d'autres cieux et aider des équipes dans leur course aux séries. L'équipe se dit prête à écouter les différentes offres même celles impliquant des noms qui n'ont pas été cités. Bonne 2e moitié de saison à tous les DG!
