WJC
Le plus beau tournoi du monde ce déroulera comme à l’habitude pendant le temps des fêtes. Même si le Lightning mise énormément sur le présent et vise rien d’autre que le championnat cette saison, l’organisation peut compter sur une belle relève et la présence de plusieurs jeunes au WJC en est la preuve. Voici un petit compte rendu des représentants du Lightning
Du côté des favoris du tournoi, les américains alignerons le centre Gavin Brindley et l’ailier Isaac Howard. Brindley en sera à sa deuxième présence au tournoi tandis que Howard tant qu’à lui en sera à sa première présence. Les deux joueurs ont respectivement 18 et 20 points en 18 matchs dans la NCAA cette saison.
La Slovaquie ont annoncé cette semaine que Adam Sykora sera le capitaine de la formation. Lui qui joue déjà un grand rôle dans son équipe AHL grâce à son jeu plus que complet. Tout comme Sykora, Alex ciernik en sera à sa deuxième présence et devrait avoir une mission offensive assez importante.
Felix Unger Sorum connaît une saison exceptionnelle en première division suédoise pour un jeune qui vient tout juste d’avoir 18 ans. Il devrait lui aussi avoir des attentes plutôt élevées pour ce tournoi après avoir réussi à faire sa place dans une des meilleures ligue au monde.
À noter l’absence de Hunter Brzustewicz avec les USA. Le défenseur trône au sommet des marqueurs de la OHL avec 55 points en 34 matchs. Le récent choix de 4ieme ronde du Lightning a probablement été victime de son choix de quitter les USA pour poursuivre son développement.
