C’est en prolongation que s’est décidé la conclusion de ce championnat mondial Junior 2023 par lequel le Canada s’est emparé de l’or encore une fois. Ce tournoi fut simplement épique en fonction des luttes très serrées que se sont livrés divers pays. Mention honorable à la Tchéquie qui s’est taillé une place jusqu’en finale, après avoir battu le Canada en début de tournoi. Team USA s’est aussi démarqué en remportant le match de bronze qui s’est aussi terminé en prolongation.
Mais la vraie histoire du tournoi a un nom. Il n’y a pas de hasard… il s’appelle ConnOR BedOR. En brisant le record Canadien avec son nombre de buts, de points lors du tournoi ainsi que considérant sa contribution totale dans les championnats! Ce prodige en a mis plein la vue et continuera d’impressionner. Nous pensions avoir tout vu avec Sidney Crosby et Connor McDavid; bien il s’agit de la nouvelle génération de talent. Ce nom soulève les passions depuis déjà plusieurs années. Il sera ciblé lors du prochain repêchage et déjà nous pouvons nous demander si certaines équipes abandonnerons malheureusement leur compétitivité lors de cette saison par divers moyens pour repêcher en premier. Ce sera bien sûr à surveiller!

Maintenant, si vous m’excusez, j’ai de la paperasse à remplir pour le changement de prénom à mon garçon. Je l’ai appelé Alexis en me disant que Lafrenière ferait le travail, mais visiblement, Connor semble être davantage le nom à donner pour que son fils devienne le meilleur joueur de hockey.
